Pyroscope is a distributed profiling backend by Grafana.

Pyroscope Worker K8s is a Juju charm that deploys and manages worker nodes in a horizontally scalable Grafana Pyroscope cluster on Kubernetes. It is a core component of the Canonical Observability Stack (COS): https://documentation.ubuntu.com/observability

Each worker node runs one or more Pyroscope roles, as assigned by the pyroscope-coordinator-k8s charm. Workers do not manage external integrations directly — all configuration is distributed to them by the coordinator through the pyroscope-cluster relation.

Key features:

  • Runs any combination of Pyroscope roles to enable fine-grained cluster topology.
  • Configurable roles via Juju config: all (default), querier, query-frontend, query-scheduler, ingester, distributor, compactor, store-gateway, tenant-settings, and ad-hoc-profiles.
  • Scales horizontally — deploy multiple worker applications with different roles to distribute load across nodes.
  • Persistent local storage for profile data during ingestion.
  • Configurable Kubernetes resource limits for CPU and memory.
