mongos is a router for connecting client applications to a sharded MongoDB clusters. Charmed Mongos is an enhanced, open source and fully-compatible drop-in replacement for the MongoDB Community Edition of mongos with additional advanced features.

Charmed Mongos simplifies the deployment, scaling, design and management of mongos with Sharded Charmed MongoDB deployments and client applications. It encapsulates the expertise of a real-world operations team and into a single charmed operator

This charm was created for a wide range of users to operate complex server applications like MongoDB. This could be mongos proxy administrators, analysts, or anyone who runs workloads in a variety of infrastructures and could benefit from automating repeatable operational work.

Charmed Mongos acts as a subordinate charm and is meant to act as a proxy to a sharded MongoDB cluster.

To deploy a sharded MongoDB cluster, please see our Charmed MongoDB operator.
