Discourse is a from-scratch reboot, an attempt to reimagine what a modern Internet discussion forum should be today, in a world of ubiquitous smartphones, tablets, Facebook, and Twitter. See this page for more details about what’s different about Discourse. And for a list of the features of Discourse, see this page.
Discourse is a JavaScript application that runs in your web browser, using the Ember.js framework. The server side of Discourse is Ruby on Rails backed by a Postgres database and Redis cache. The code is licensed under the Apache License, version 2, and pull requests are accepted once you’ve signed a Contributor License Agreement.
For more information on Redis and PostgreSQL relations see this section.
For details on configuration options, see this page.
