juju deploy cos-proxy --channel dev/edge
Single integration point in the machine world with Kubernetes-based COS.
COS Proxy is a Juju machine charm that bridges legacy observability interfaces from the traditional LMA stack with the Kubernetes-based Canonical Observability Stack (COS): https://documentation.ubuntu.com/observability
Deployed on a machine model, it collects metrics scrape targets, alert rules, Grafana dashboards, and NRPE checks from legacy charms, and forwards them to COS charms such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki via cross-model relations.
Key features:
- Bridges legacy machine-based observability interfaces (prometheus-manual, monitors, http, grafana-dashboard, elastic-beats) with COS Kubernetes charms.
- Translates NRPE checks into Prometheus scrape jobs and alert rules using the built-in nrpe_exporter.
- Forwards Grafana dashboards, Prometheus scrape jobs, and alert rules to COS via cross-model relations.
- Log forwarding to Loki via the downstream-logging relation.
- Designed for easy integration in bundles and Juju-driven appliances, minimizing the setup needed to connect machine workloads with COS.
